Shit Hits The Fan plan. com is a great (American) site with great (American) articles, but you will notice a distinct lack of anything about hydroponics.
Which would you prefer, a pantry full of really yummy dried foods (which you’ll have to keep eating, to stay below the use-by date), or a bulk quantity of hydro nutrients so you can enjoy your own fresh vegies?
Maybe it’s all crap. Maybe life will go on like it always has.
Maybe.

Hi, was looking at building an NFT system but this Passive looks cheaper. How often do you have to change the solution and how deep is the solution in the pipe. thanks

Well I have to say, Im blown away with your system that I got from you a few weeks ago. I have three types of tomys and strawberrys in one tube and snow peas and tomys in another one I made myself and started them all on 10ml and they are the best looking plants I have ever seen (so healthy and rich looking). I have them hanging under the eves and wow they love it (north faceing side. Any way I just wanted to say thank you Pete you have given me faith in Hydroponics where as I was about to give up on it.

Hey Kev, it's not a question of health, but season. In autumn, a healthy strawb will throw out runners. You can stick those runners into adjacent holes in your planter. About July those plants should start flowering and bearing fruit -and stop throwing out runners. It's an either / or situation.
the same thing seems to apply to the fruit. Our experience is, one plant will produce x amount (weight) of fruit. If you leave all the flowers on, you will get a lot of small fruit. If you want big fruit, cut half the flowers off.
Either way, you'll still get the same weight of fruit.
there's no such thing as a free lunch. (there's wisdom my future grandkids can remember me by.)
